Steppe Horse Archery puts you on a galloping horse with a bow and a quiver of 40 arrows. Targets on wooden posts stand in two rows beside the track: a near row and a smaller far row. You shoot from the saddle while the ground rushes past, so every shot is a question of timing, draw strength and how far ahead to aim.
You can ride through four places: Steppe, River, Pass and Autumn. A run ends when you cover the full course (1,400 m on Easy, 1,800 m on Normal, 2,200 m on Hard) or when the quiver is empty. It runs in any modern browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.
How to play
- The ride starts right away. The top of the screen counts your hits, the arrows left and the metres ridden.
- Set the horse's pace with the tall slider on the left. Higher is faster: you cover ground sooner, but targets slip past more quickly.
- Press and hold the round DRAW button on the right to pull the string. A small arc next to the rider fills up, and a gold band on that arc marks the sweet spot.
- Let go to loose the arrow. While you hold the draw, a dashed line shows where the arrow will fly. It turns from red to gold when it will strike a target, and the corners of a lock-on frame close in with the distance to that target in metres.
- Each hit is graded as Bullseye, Hit or Clipped. An arrow that drops to the ground or flies too far is a Miss. When the run ends you see your hits, gold targets and distance, and can tap Ride again.

Rules
- Every run gives you 40 arrows. The run is over when they are gone or when you reach the course length for your difficulty.
- Arrows fall under gravity and the wind pushes them forward or back along the track. A small arrow near the top centre of the screen shows the wind's direction and strength.
- A fuller draw flies faster and flatter. Holding the string past about four fifths of a full draw makes your arm start to shake, which throws the arrow off.
- Easy has a slower horse, faster arrows, larger targets and light wind. Hard has a faster horse, smaller targets and stronger wind.
- Gold targets are smaller than the white ones and appear now and then in either row. They are counted separately on the results screen.
Tips
- Release inside the gold band on the draw gauge. You get a flat, fast arrow without the shake that comes from holding too long.
- Far-row targets sit higher and are smaller. Give them a fuller draw, or tilt the phone a little if Motion aim is on.
- Slow the horse before a cluster of targets and speed up on empty stretches. That way you still cover the course before your arrows run out.
FAQ
What are the lessons?
The Menu has a Lessons list: 6 groups of 7 goals, 42 in all. They start with Hit 1 target and Ride 300 m and build up to goals such as Hit 10 in a row or 85% accuracy. Meeting one goal moves you to the next. The info panel also has a HUD ON/OFF switch for the aim line.
Do I need to tilt my phone?
No. Set Motion aim to Off and the arrow's height comes from draw strength alone. On iPhone the browser may ask for motion permission the first time.
Who are the other riders?
Every 20 to 40 seconds a rider in green and gold may gallop past doing tricks, such as standing in the saddle or shooting backwards. They are scenery and do not affect your score.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes. Up and Down change the pace, and holding and releasing Space draws and looses the bow.
Which languages are there?
English, Chinese and Korean. On webgametube.com it opens in English.
